1. Start with clean skin
Begin with freshly cleansed skin by removing makeup and environmental impurities using a gentle cleanser of your choice. Follow with deep facial cleansing, exfoliation to remove dead skin cells, and techniques that reduce inflammation, promote lymphatic drainage, and improve circulation. Apply ABSOLUTE YOUTH toner as directed using a cotton pad.
Especially as skin ages, using the toner is essential to maximize the benefits of gua sha, as both significantly enhance each other’s effects—supporting detoxification, oxygen and nutrient delivery, reducing puffiness, and relaxing muscles and fascia responsible for wrinkles and discomfort.
For enhanced results, you can also massage the toner into the skin with the gua sha to promote deeper penetration and boost its anti-inflammatory and regenerative properties. If needed, follow with ABSOLUTE YOUTH serum, then ABSOLUTE YOUTH cream. The cream should absorb deeply with nano-molecules, restore the skin’s surface layer, and ensure smooth glide of the gua sha tool.
Gua sha also generates gentle warmth, preparing the skin, fascia, muscles, and blood vessels—making them softer and more elastic, and helping to prevent micro-tears, bruising, and congestion caused by muscle tension.
2. Preparing the gua sha
Always wash the gua sha with soap and warm water before use to remove dust, bacteria, oil, or sebum from previous use that could cause skin irritation or infection. Dry it with a clean towel.
3. Technique
Move the gua sha from the center of the face outward at a 45-degree angle. Always guide it toward lymphatic drainage areas and slightly downward (never upward toward the brain) to promote lymph flow toward the lymph nodes near the collarbone.
Start at the forehead. Use the curved edge to gently glide from the center of the nose bridge under the eyes toward the temples (to reduce puffiness and stimulate collagen production). One to three strokes are sufficient.
Then use the flat side to glide from the nose across the cheeks toward the ears. Continue from under the nose across the upper lip toward the lower ear, then from the lower lip and chin toward the ears.
Use the shaped edge to glide along the jawline from the center of the chin to the ear.
Next, collect accumulated lymph and fluid from the temples by gliding the flat side downward along the neck, over the chewing muscle, toward the collarbone.
Finally, gently glide the flat side downward along the neck from the jawline to the collarbones.
Focus areas: If you feel tension in certain muscles, repeat a few additional strokes over those areas to release “knots” or tightness. Avoid excessive pressure, as it may stretch or irritate the skin.
4. Consistency
Incorporate gua sha massage into your skincare routine 2–3 times per week for optimal results. Regular use is key to improving skin tone, texture, and overall radiance.
The gua sha tool can also be used for one minute in your daily morning routine to reduce puffiness and achieve a smooth “glass skin” effect.
Use gua sha after applying ABSOLUTE YOUTH toner, serum, and cream to ensure deeper absorption, moisture retention, and pore refinement. It also enhances the protective benefits of the cream throughout the day.
5. Storage
After each use, wash the gua sha with soap, dry it thoroughly, and store it in a cool, dry place—preferably in the provided pouch.
Note: Each black obsidian gua sha stone is unique, and color variations may occur due to the natural diversity of the material.
